I have just finished my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in Nachimuthu Polytechnic and applied for the counseling and after a long run now i got the Acknowledgment card but no details about counseling date or ranks they were still in silence after a hundreds of Google’s i got that from ACCET website.
Just go here to get more details on last year cut off marks.

But when i checked the application status it displays that its received. But don’t worry about that if you got acknowledgment card

UPDATE:
Everything went fine! I started my travel by 10 AM from mt home town reached and reached Dindgul by 1.30PM and have my Lunch at Baalaaji Bavan and started my travel by 2PM again and reached PillayarPatti by 4PM and went there to Praise the Lord and spent an Hour there and Started my travel again by 5.20PM and i reached Karikkudi by 6 PM .
Have a fine sleep in a Cot there!
My Counselling was scheduled on he Monday (19.7.2010) 2 PM session which is the First session for Mech Guys!
I was bit nervous because on morning when i saw the Seat Status it was Upside down! But any how the data on the website was not correct, confirmed by one of my friend and i have shower off in my room and reached the College by 11AM after taking my BreakFast at Hotel Annapoorna, the Food was bit delicious there, so i was over loaded there.
At 3 PM only the candidates were allowed inside the hall because there was a delay in finishing of the civil session it seems!
I was bit nervous again since they started to give instructions on filling up a declaration form and at last they started to call the names and i was the Second Guy and finally i just picked off a seat in Best College in Tamil Nadu i.e PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
After a little break i was called and give the Allotment Order!

That’s it and again started my travel to Home Town by 5.30PM after checking off and sipping in a Slice and reached Dindgul by 9.30 PM and took my Dinner there and started my Journey again by 10 PM and reached my Home by 1.30AM at Range of 80 MPH from Dindgul!

my chose is EEE. My cast is BCM. many of the college have no seat for BCM. If my counciling time can i choose EEE at BC kota . It is possible.

You can get the list of colleges available in Coimbatore from Anna university website
Might be some new colleges may be added this year (You can also compare the list of colleges available under lateral entry scheme which you have got during the time of issue of application) so care about that!
Based on the seats currently available you might get the reputation of college!

Dear Brother.
first of all im unable to understand the oc rank system , is this is combined with all other departments or else only for mechanical dep students????? plzzz clearify im this question..
secondly ,they have printed this statement in call letter”candidates more than number of vacancies have been called for counselling anticipating dropouts. Mere attending the counseling does not guarantee the allotment of seats. hence, candidate pursuing any course in institutions are advised not to apply for transfer certificate before getting the allotment order.” plzz explain me this paragraph of call letter.
thirdly, is this is such a small councelling tat we cant get seat even if we have secured 88%….

I am too 18 so i just explaining what i know
1. OC means open competition any one can take a seat from OC if there is no seat available under his community but note that a Candidate who is OC [Candidates who didn't submit the Proper community certificate or Forward Class or Candidates who belong to other states and Candidates who does not have community are treated under OC] can’t take seats from any other community reservation!
An OC Candidate can take seat only from OC
But,
BC Candidate can take Seat from BC or OC
BC Muslim Candidate can take seat from BCM or OC
MBC Candidate can take seat from MBC or OC
SC/ST Candidate can take SC/ST or OC
SCA Candidate can take seat from SCA or OC etc.,
2. First, If you’re going to attend the counseling then there is no guarantee that you will get a seat under lateral entry scheme also it says that the number of students called for counseling is more than the number of seats available because some Candidates can go out from counseling without taking any seats (Say the college he expected may be wont there i.e seats may be finished off likewise). so, the reason for calling candidates more than number of vacanices is due to the above reason (Drop off at the mid phase of the counseling by some canidates) and in order to fill those seats they are calling more students then the number of vacancies!
3. In Tamil Nadu there are number of Engineering Colleges you can get one!

OC Rank says your all over ranking in Tamil nadu in the Particular branch code!
Perhaps Comm Rank means the ranking in your community
For example, Lets say my register number is 2382XX
Where 2 denotes Mechanical Engg and 382XX stands for Application number
In which i got OC Rank -2 and Comm Rank – 1
Which means 2nd Rank in Tamil Nadu Counseling in Mechanical Related Branches over all and 1st Rank in my Community in Tamil Nadu!

1. I hope you can get one if yo have a community reservation!
2. OC means open competition any one can take a seat from OC if there is no seat available under his community but note that a Candidate who is OC [Candidates who didn't submit the Proper community certificate or Forward Class or Candidates who belong to other states and Candidates who does not have community are treated under OC] can’t take seats from any other community reservation!
An OC Candidate can take seat only from OC
But,
BC Candidate can take Seat from BC or OC
BC Muslim Candidate can take seat from BCM or OC
MBC Candidate can take seat from MBC or OC
SC/ST Candidate can take SC/ST or OC
SCA Candidate can take seat from SCA or OC etc.,
